The final seminar in the 2025 scholarship seminar series, which helps prepare students for their Grade 5 scholarship exams, was recently held at Kallanchiya School. The event was coordinated by the principal of Kendewa School, Ms. Udesha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of schools from the Anuradhapura and Horowpothana regions participated in the seminar. These schools have been part of the “Pirunu Kusak – Pirunu Hisak” food program since 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, which provided students with food, drinks, and a gift along with their question papers, was financially sponsored by the SFP 102 food program’s food account. This marks the second time they have sponsored a Grade 5 scholarship seminar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special thank you goes to Mr. Torrington Kumarasiri, a lecturer at the Pulathisipura Teacher Training College, who volunteered his time for this event, just as he has in previous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearly 200 students attended the seminar, which required the use of a school with a main hall. It can be challenging to find a school with a main hall or even five classrooms to hold such events in many rural schools in the Anuradhapura district. For this reason, the nearest suitable school with a main hall had to be selected for the event. The support of the Grade 5 teachers from the participating schools was also invaluable and greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 * Konakumbukwewa School: 34 students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 * Ginikatuwewa School: 11 students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 * Gonapetiyawa School: 12 students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 * Pahalarathmalgahawewa School: 25 students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 * Nayakapuwewa School: 4 students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 * Pallankulama School: The number of students was not specified in the provided information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
