SFP Isn’t Just About Serving Food
For some, the phrase “SFP” might only bring to mind the image of a meal being served. But for those who are part of the mission, it’s about so much more.
On September 21, 2022, a message was shared that beautifully captured the true spirit of this work. It was a simple question about a child who didn’t have shoes, followed by a heartfelt response from someone else in the group. One person asked, “Does this child have shoes?” Another replied, “Let’s find a pair for them.
This simple exchange shows the real heart of SFP. It’s a testament to the commitment of those involved—the volunteers, the “Kapakaruwo” (sponsors or benefactors) who have taken on entire schools. It’s not just about providing a daily meal; it’s about seeing a need and acting on it, whether it’s for shoes, school supplies, or something else entirely.
The love and warmth in this community are truly special. It’s this empathy and dedication that makes the biggest difference. The sponsors aren’t just giving money; they are giving a piece of themselves. They are looking out for the well-being of these children in every way they can, and that is a truly beautiful thing.
This is a reminder that the greatest acts of kindness often come from paying attention to the small details and showing genuine care. It’s the little things that show how much we truly love and care.
