A Whirlwind of Hope: 53 Scholarships Granted and More to Come! 

It only took one hour and thirty-two minutes.

That’s how long we spent sharing the details of the fifty-three children selected from the applications we received. We were reviewing the submissions and sharing the chosen students’ information with our team and partners.

That hour and a half felt both incredibly fast and profoundly powerful. With every minute that passed, you could sense the hope being kindled for so many.

Behind every one of these scholarships is a story:

• The story of a child too afraid to dream.

• The story of a teacher who believes in their student.

• The story of a sponsor whose left hand doesn’t know what their right hand gives.

• The story of a team dedicated to seeing a task through to the end.

When hearts unite for a cause, magic happens. It doesn’t adhere to a clock; it simply is.

A massive thank you to the 53 individuals who partnered with ‘Pikupihi’ today to take on the sponsorship of these children right up to their O/L (Ordinary Level) examinations.

Every year, Pikupihi pledges fifty scholarships for children transitioning from the Grade Five Scholarship Exam.

However, when we woke up to find that all the available slots were filled and saw the overwhelming enthusiasm from people still eager to help (even as they jokingly complained to us for not saving them a child!), we decided to re-open the scholarship applications.

We are now ready to offer an additional 25 scholarships!
