Heartfelt Donations Making a Difference
I am excited to share two recent, impactful donations that have greatly benefited our community.
Asela, who I had never met before, responded to a Facebook post I made and generously offered to donate a bicycle to our program. At that time, we had received a request from a child in a very challenging school who needed help getting to school. We were able to give the bicycle to this child, who was extremely grateful.
Later, Asela reached out again, wanting to celebrate her mother’s birthday in a meaningful way by making another donation. She decided to donate a brand-new wheelchair. Coincidentally, we had just received a request from our principal’s group for a wheelchair for twins suffering from muscular dystrophy. Asela’s timely donation made a significant difference in their lives.
These acts of kindness highlight the incredible generosity within our community. We run a network connecting those who want to help those in need, facilitated through our principals and verified by local Public Health Inspectors (PHI). Our Facebook group plays a crucial role in gathering support, and posts requesting help often receive responses within minutes.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Asela Rukshan for her prompt and generous contributions. The photos below show the child who received the bicycle and the twins who benefited from the wheelchair. These images capture the joy and relief brought by these donations.
A special thank you to Miss Airangani and Miss Kokila for coordinating these efforts, and to the Piku Pihi group for their unwavering support.
