Pirunu Kusak – Pirunu Hisak Scholarship Award 2025
We are delighted to announce that 69 children from our “Pirunu Kusak – Pirunu Hisak” food program have passed the fifth-grade scholarship exam for 2024. This program has supported their nutrition for the past three years, even after the government took over the food program. Additionally, we facilitated several after-school programs and provided 40 model question papers for each student in all participating schools, costing one million rupees. We held Grade 5 scholarship seminars in the Dimbulagala area, joining several schools that are usually not selected for such seminars due to their small size. We also provided full book lists each year and organized a ceremony to present scholarships and gifts to students who passed the previous year’s Grade 5 scholarship exam, motivating them further.
Support for 2025:
Provide packages with stationery, bags, shoes, vouchers, water bottles, and lunch boxes to the 69 passed students.
Special gifts for the two top-scoring students who achieved 162 marks.
Pay tribute to teachers from four schools where children passed the Grade 5 scholarship exam for the first time in history.
We are offering a long-term scholarship for qualified students from low-income families, providing Rs. 2000 per month until they face the Ordinary Level exams. The amount may vary based on the economic situation. Our scholarship program also provides Rs. 5000 per child during Ordinary Level exams, Rs. 10,000 per month during Advanced Level exams and Rs. 15,000 per month for university students.
How to Join the Scholarship Program:
- Refer a Student: Complete the application with relevant documents and submit it to us. A committee will select the eligible children. This is initially open to Piku-Pihi students and will expand to other rural students in the next stage.

- Share the Information: Spread the word to children who need support or scholarships.
This is the second year of the successful Piku-Pihi scholarship program, filling both the head and the stomach. While we have rules and regulations, and sometimes scholarships are cancelled due to violations, we continue to support eager learners. Here is a report card of a child who received our scholarship last year. Piku-Pihi is a place where even the smallest efforts are made for children who want to learn without hesitation.
